Tips for Choosing the Meals
Include foods from each of the four food groups in
Canada’s Food Guide.
Think about using leftovers. For example, plan to use leftover roast chicken for chicken enchiladas the next day.
Plan easier meals for busy nights.
Choose whole grains, such as whole grain bread, tortillas and pita, whole grain pasta, and brown rice.
Include plenty of vegetables. Consider both raw and cooked vegetables
Serve your family at least one dark green and one orange vegetable a day.
Try a new recipe once a week.
